I'd been looking forward to going back to the marina and having catfish again. It was as good as I'd remembered.

Strawberry Short Cake
The cloud bread forms the base of this lovely pile. It is disappointing. Honestly, the strawberries with whipped cream or sour cream is just as good and less trouble.

Cloud Bread
I'm trying this recipe for cloud bread. I think I should have beaten the egg whites stiffer. Larry ate one and was disappointed that it wasn't like a cookie. I am supposed to let them sit overnight. I plan to see what they are like tomorrow. Hopefully it will make the base of strawberry shortcake.
Not So Helpful
I used the self checkout at Walmart. The barcode didn't work so I used the search option and selected tomatoes on the vine. I scanned more items bit was interrupted by the helpful clerk who said I had not paid for something. I explained about the barcode and search option ending with tomatoes on the vine. She assured !e it said tomatoes on the vine when she did her bit. So I gave up and checked my bill showing her tomatoes on the vine appeared twice rather widely separated. She said to go to customer service to get it straightened out.

Doctor's Visit
Today we had out follow-up doctor's visit to discuss the results of our lab tests. My results were OK and I got an allergy shot. I hope I can sleep tonight without fear of drowning.
Cereal
Mostly blueberries, but a few blackberries aren't bananas, but are on my diet. The cereal isn't exactly low carb, but it is Fiber 1, so it could be worse.

Groceries
I bought family sized packages of meat and started spreading the pieces on cookie sheets. Today I labeled ziplock bags and put the frozen pieces in. Then I make a second batch on the cookie sheets and put them in the freezer. Tomorrow I will label and bag them. I don't like to shop, but I'm pretty happy to have food.

Seeds
The hollyhocks are biennials and bloomed this year. I want to save seeds but the wind and rain have flattened the tall stalks so they are flat on wet grass. I'd rather cut them off, but the seedheads need to stay on until the seeds mature.

Five Hours
I spent five hours today trying to get my audible books to download and play o my iPod. The audible techs were helpful, but my computer was slow so it took forever to see if something worked. We were under flashflood warning but not anything awful except wishing audible would leave well enough alone.

Wind Chimes
We have a huge wind chime in the gift shop. People keep bumping it and setting off a racket in the tiny room. I hope somebody buys it soon!

Soil Test
We rode around the fields getting soil samples to take in to be analyzed. I have bloody scratches from blackberry bushes. I hope I don't have ticks or red bugs.

New Book
I downloaded a book from audible and when I try to listen to it, I get the next book down. That is annoying. I guess I'll try downloading it again. At first I thought it was my iPod gone wonky, but I can specify another book.

Flower Beds
I dug up another bag of irises and did some weeding there. Then I watered a half dozen roses I didn't get to yesterday.

Soda Stream
For a while Walmart carried soda stream flavoring. I hopefully tried two different ones and was told they no longer carried it even though they sold well. I tried Amazon and wasn't sure what was going on there. But Bed, Bath and Beyond still stocks it at the old price.

Wonder Woman
Well, I'd been hearing that Wonder Woman was good. Today we found it on at an afternoon showing. I thoroughly enjoyed it. I hadn't been to a movie in several years. The promos were all science fiction and looked good, too.

Kids
A kid I taught in the fourth grade has two kids now. It seems like he is awfully young. Then I figured out his age and realized we had three by that age. But we didn't live with a parent and were married. I wonder if he'll get squared away.

Pretty Spot
I'm not having a lot of success getting an entire flower bed fixed, but this tiny strip of one looks good.
Township
I played Township for a while. If I could have gotten a hardware store I might have played longer. But as it was I was stuck with acquiring random bits of construction materials and waiting for what I wanted. So after several years with a Kindle fire, I figured out how to delete something from from my device😁
Keeping Up
I spent some time yesterday digging up irises. I intend to dig more today. That presents another problem... where do I put the ones I dug up? I seriously do not want to make a new flowerbed. They have to be weeded.

Pebble Isle
We had lunch at the marina today and ran saw a couple of teachers who retired from the same school I did. We had a good visit which is odd because we weren't really friends when we worked together. Not enemies, just not friends.

No Sugar?
I've been using Splenda for over ten years to cut back on my use of sugar. Now I'm trying for low carb, no sugar, and hardly any artificial sweetener. Reducing the amount is different from cutting out something! Ouch!

Caffeine
I have only had one mug of black coffee for two days now. So that cut back on caffeine as well as artificial sweetener. I slept for eight hours last night. I don't know when I've done that before.

Beans
This is a serving of chicken salad. I used a can of chicken, small diced carrots and celery, green pepper, onion, pickle relish, mayonnaise, and a can of black beans (rinsed and drained).
A neighbor brought a book extolling the virtues of beans today. And They Said It Wasn't Possible by Karen R. Hurd is the book. It reads about like a Magic School bus book without the cartoon format.

Weeding
I've been weeding and dead heading but totally couldn't catch up. So today I used the weed whacker and cut the oregano and bee balm, the irises,Columbine, and some clover that had crept in. It still needs work, but it is better than it was.

Yellow Hollyhocks
It has been interesting to me seeing what colors will show up on the hollyhocks. Today yellow hollyhocks opened. All of the blooms are pastel except the red ones, both single and double.
Skunk
My art room smelled like skunk for several days. Today I saw this dead skunk's tail sticking out of a hole going under the greenhouse.

Strawberry Pie
On a visit to my aunt's a long time ago, my uncle went to Shoney's and brought back a strawberry pie. It was wonderful! I've had it a few times since, but not often. I found this recipe at cooks.com for Big Boy Strawberry Pie. It was wonderful, too, and easier and quicker than finding a Shoney's.

Bees
My neighbor started keeping bees. He was building up his hives with wild bees. Then he had an allergic reaction and started carrying an epi pen. The next time he got stung he used the epi pen and then drove himself to the emergency room about twenty minutes away. Soon after, he got rid of the bees.
