I usually prefer to dress casually, but the dress code at the hospital, even for volunteers, requires that we dress "professionally." So I dug out my "teacher clothes" and shoes to wear with my pink-lady smock.
But the patients don't understand the significance of the pink smock and occasionally tell someone, "She's a doctor; ask her!"
