It's been really cold and it will be again, but we've had a few days with temperatures in the 50's and 60's with just a little breeze. We rode around through the woods in the gator and picked up branches that have blown down. We threw the branches into erosion washes. We saw where some of the limbs have blocked the runoff and dirt has begun to fill in the ditches. The runoff has been so enthusiastic that it washed the piles of branches out of the ditch.
We got the idea of piling branches into the washes from the Permaculture book. It works, but it isn't fast and doesn't look tidy.
