A large king snake lay in the sun for a while and then made its way toward my tire garden. Before it got there, it went into one of the many mole holes in the yard. King snakes usually keep a place free of poisonous snakes:) They also eat rodents.
You were much closer to it than I would have chosen to be. Yes, I know they're beneficial. No, I don't feel the need to intrude on their personal space and politely request they show me the same consideration!
