Not Even Weeds

The strips of green on each side are actual grass.  We had swales dug to slow down the torrent of water when it floods.  Then we laid sod and watered it.  Weeds are slow filling in.
The little green leaves shown here are oak seedlings.  They have to be cut (a dusty job) or we would have a forest in the front yard.
These unsightly bare spots are places I would be delighted if clover moved in.  We have a lot of clover.  For some reason Larry doesn't like white clover although he is willing to plant red clover.  At least it is green when it's cut!
I think this is where Larry is going to plant the ground cover Fed Ex brought today.

This part is where he's started taking out trees with a smaller diameter than about 8 inches except dogwoods of any size remain.  It is to the left of the driveway.  I'm going to put day lilies and irises out in there as well as daffodils and maybe a crepe myrtle or so.
Not even weeds want to grow.
