I very stupidly reserved a hotel room using Choose a Room. It cost a lot more than it would have if I'd done it differently. I paid $18 in taxes to the state of California because that was where the site was located. It also said that I could cancel the reservation but would still have to pay the full amount. I paid at least $20 more, and most of it was in California state tax.
