Bible Discussion

At the hospital sometimes I find myself receiving confidences from people who are distressed and wander into the gift shop. I do the best I can, but when somebody digs out a well-worn Bible, I'm not going to say it is a political document designed to keep people in their place. I try to comfort people as well as I can, but some are determined to dig out the most hurtful passages and flail themselves with it. I'm pretty sure none of them are going to decide that some of it is ok to believe and some of it is not. I think some people really should stop by the chaplain's office not the gift shop.
